Coffee County Arts Alliance: 50 Years of "Bringing Community Together" Through the Arts in Enterprise, AL

For half a century, the Coffee County Arts Alliance (CCAA) has been the heart and soul of the artistic landscape in Enterprise, Alabama. Founded with a noble mission, the CCAA has been unwavering in its commitment to promoting awareness, understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of both the visual and performing arts.

Over its illustrious journey, the Alliance has showcased a diverse tapestry of performances and performers, from classical ballet by the Montgomery Civic Ballet to soulful tunes by The Kingston Trio. From the rhythmic beats of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band to the theatrical brilliance of plays like "Damn Yankees" and "Fiddler on the Roof". The vibrant list is endless, spanning genres and forms, and each season surpassing the last.

With an emphasis on educating the younger generation, the CCAA has consistently introduced students to the enchanting world of arts. Elementary and higher-grade students eagerly await the school performances that have become an integral annual tradition. These aren't mere performances but interactive sessions where renowned performers often engage directly with students, providing them with invaluable insights and instruction. The Birmingham Children's Theatre's consistent performances for local schools is a testament to CCAA's dedication to youth enrichment.

A cornerstone of their annual events is the Piney Woods Arts Festival, held on the verdant grounds of the Enterprise State Community College every first weekend of April. Renowned as one of the oldest juried arts and crafts shows in the region, the festival is a confluence of original artistry, crafts, gastronomy, and entertainment. It's an event where families unite, children explore, and artists shine.

Behind the success of the Coffee County Arts Alliance is a supportive network of corporate sponsors, devoted members, enthusiastic attendees, and the invaluable partnership with The Alabama State Council on the Arts. Together, they ensure that the show always goes on. As CCAA marks its golden jubilee, it stands as a beacon of community spirit, artistic excellence, and a celebration of the timeless power of the arts to bring people together.
